About
Pluto Q is a social enterprise operating for the community benefit of marginalised writers and creative freelancers.
We are a Community Interest Company, so rather than operating for profit for a particular individual or shareholders, everything we earn is reinvested back into the company’s activities, and used to benefit our target community.
We provide Support Work and editorial services from our Community Reading Room in Govanhill, Glasgow.
The Reading Room is a free, accessible venue, designed to be a comfortable space for people to sit and read and write at leisure.
Read on to find out more about what we stand for, the worlds we’re trying to build, and how we’re working to build them.
Mission & Values
We believe in the transformative power of words and stories.
We believe that there is boldness inherent in supressed voices speaking up and making and taking space in the world.
We believe that playful, speculative, imaginative writing and storytelling can be radical tools for marginalised creatives to invent and build fairer, kinder, brighter worlds – worlds made by us, for us, as places in which we can thrive.
These worlds come in all sizes – from at-home-book-nooks, to community venues, to entire societies built on principles of mutual care – and there is a revolutionary brightness in every one of them.
The Pluto Q mission is to hold space for the cultivation and amplification of these lights.
